with nothing to worry about, probably the homosapien's species tendency to find new friends or just some activity to fill in the time slots they have increases. Think about it, in this period study is not their priority, they just wanna have fun.

This is the time they don't have to worry about reports they have to complete and at the same time comforting their needy, clingy, jealous girlfriends n boyfriends :)

all the time in the world can be 'spotlight' to their gf/bf.....
so,have a great time with ur loved ones.. :D
